Looking for an alternative to Etsy? Try Trinksy!
Given the recent uproar in the Etsy forums over their new "manufacturing" policies (which essentially allows Etsy shops to create mass produced items on a factory-level scale), many Etsy shop owners have been asking this question:
Are there any other online venues that I can sell my handmade merchandise?
Ebay, especially for those who sell handmade, is not an option, as it's too overcrowded by resellers and mass-produced factories selling at ridiculously low prices. Zibbet, which is another handmade online market similar to Etsy, has had a flood of Etsy sellers enter their site; however, I don't find it as polished or visually appealing as Etsy.
This is why I'm so excited to feature another option for all of the distressed Etsy sellers out there - Trinksy!
Trinksy is a maker marketplace geared towards indie crafters and designers looking to buy and sell unique wares. It may be the perfect new haven for disgruntled Etsy shop owners - I find it to be well designed and more colorful and varied than Etsy's typically bland homepage.
The creators of Trinksy, as artists and crafters themselves, started Trinksy to provide a
simple and effective way for small independent artists and crafters to
gain exposure.
Although it may not be as well known as Etsy, sellers will have the opportunity to have their store grow in prominence as Trinksy grows, unlike Etsy, where a new store is easily lost in a swarm of resellers and mass-producers.
Also unlike Etsy, they take no commissions on sales and it only cost $.50 to list an item for 12 months - Trinksy only allows handcrafted items (no vintage or supplies) and they have an approval process for new shops wanting to join.

For the future, the creators of Trinksy will continue to expand and offer additional features and services for shop
owners and buyers. They've recently added their Design Deals with cool
prices on hot items marked down for a limited time.
Trinksy loves spreading
the word on the wonderful items their shop owners list by pinning it to
Pinterest, posting to Facebook, Twitter, Wanelo & Keep. Every item.
