4 Incredible Vintage Books on Etsy from Ol' Curiosities & Book Shoppe!

I'm super excited today to have an Etsy store spotlight post for Ol' Curiosities & Book Shoppe!

The owner of this amazing shop, Spencer, is from Monroeville, Alabama. He started this store as a way for his physical bookstore to make a little more money. Spencer loves books and has a huge passion for them!

He also started his Etsy store because he feels that there are people out there that love vintage books, but maybe don't have a used book store close by. With Etsy, it is much easier to access a worldwide audience!

Here are my top 4 favorite items!

I cannot express how excited I was to see this book available! The Good Earth is absolutely one of my all-time favorite novels - I've read it at least a dozen times over since I discovered this book in high school.

This novel, full of rich historical backgrounds and social complexes, is one that I recommend for every book collection. This particular copy is actually identical to my own, and was printed in the 1950's.

ETA: Quick, small fact - I live in Central Virginia, and Pearl S. Buck happened to graduate from one of our local colleges, Randolph-Macon Women's College (now renamed to Randolph College), so she's an important and legendary figure even in our own small town! ^_^

Since I'm a huge Pearl S. Buck fan, I had to add this book to my list as well. This vintage book, dated from around the 1950's, is her masterpiece Imperial Woman.

I personally didn't discover this particular novel from her until about a year or so ago - I found a relatively newer copy hidden and stuffed into a far back shelf in one of our local, mom and pop book stores. Like The Good Earth, it quickly became one of my favorites.

Huckleberry Finn, while it's one of America's most iconic books by Mark Twain, it's also one of the most controversial, especially when it comes to the conversation of whether it should be taught in school. This is usually because of the historically authentic, yet harsh racial language that Twain used throughout the novel.

This particular copy is from around the 1930's - love the vintage artwork on the cover!

Looking for more historical books? This work of literature describes the failed 1812 invasion of Russia by Napoleon Bonaparte. Ironically, Hitler would study Napoleon's failed tactics years later during World War II, and he still thought it would be a good idea to split his army and invade. XD

This vintage book from the 1980's would be a great addition to any collector's book stash!
