Amazing Turban Headwear and Hats on Etsy from It Becomes You!

Today we have an awesome Etsy spotlight post and interview with, Julia, the owner of It Becomes You!

Below, I've selected some of my favorite handmade turbans and hats from her shop, and we also have an exclusive interview with the talented creator of these lovely items. Enjoy!

Q: Julia, please describe your Etsy shop to me - what has brought you inspiration for your creations?

A: I design and make women's quality fashion lined turban hats for any occasion and seasons and 1920 s inspired wool felt cloche hats. I am a professional sewer with a degree in fashion design. I live in Boston, MA where I teach all levels of sewing and Fashion Design at The Boston Center For Adult Education (BCAE). I love teaching young adults - women and men! That's how I stay in touch with what's happening right now.

Q: Why did you decide to open your Etsy store? Is there a background story to your shop?

A: One of my students wanted to learn how to make a turban for herself. We figured it out after I made a few samples. While making my trial samples, I fell in love with this head wear. When I checked Etsy to see what kind of turbans are offered there, I realized that most of them are made out of stretch fabric. So, I wanted to design my turbans using a woven non-stretch fabric, which offers endless possibilities. Then I added cloche hats. I love those as well!

Q: What are you planning for your shop in the future?

A: I don't know yet what's coming next, but I am sure something exciting will hit me soon. Can't wait!

Thanks so much for your interview Julia, I'm honored to feature your Etsy shop on my blog. Enjoy my favorite selections below!

This turban is GORGEOUS! I really love the African style print to this headwrap - it's bright and colorful, yet could go with an array of different outfits. So beautiful!

I really like the texture and color of this wool turban! Sewn out of a wool, rayon, poly blend, and beige boucle jersey knit, this turban is lined with a silky polyester lining to support the poofy shape. This way, your turban will not stretch out.

As a bonus, you can request a cotton lining if preferred!

As soon as I saw this hat, it immediately reminded me of the gorgeous 1920's flapper outfits and the amazing headwear that they used to sport!

Made from orange wool felt and tapestry fabric, this hat is definitely a true cloche hat; it sits deep down to your eyebrows and has a narrow brim that could be rolled up or down.

This royal blue brocade paisley turban is absolutely exquisite! The fabric is woven - not stretch, so it will hold it's shape. Such a gorgeous accessory!

As you can tell, I'm a huge fan of saturated, dark blue shades! This beautiful item is made of iridescent silky satin polyester, with a front bow.
