Coming Soon: Cancer Awareness Jewelry Collection

Exciting news! My parents (who create the items for the Fine Jewelry Section in our store) are collaborating with me once more to create a cancer awareness section in our store.

I currently have one item listed, my Wire Wrapped Spiral Lung Cancer Awareness Earrings, which will likely be reserved soon for my cousin, who beat an aggressive case of lung cancer just a few years ago and is currently working with multiple cancer support groups in our city's cancer center.

The white ribbon depicted on these glass beads represents support for lung cancer awareness, similar to how the well-known pink ribbon supports breast cancer awareness.

Not only do we want to create beautiful jewelry that people can find support and comfort in (and spread awareness), but we want to take a few dollars from every purchase and donate it to cancer research centers, such as the American Cancer Society. For every purchase from our Cancer Awareness Jewelry section, we're going to donate an already specified amount to one of these centers and screenshot the confirmation of the donation for proof and post it to the store's Facebook page.

For my mom, who is going to help my father design collection, this is a very exciting and sentimental time. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago after she found a lump during a self-exam.

Frightened, she went to her doctor and they performed a mammogram. Ironically, the lump that she felt was only harmless fatty tissue, but there was something cancerous lurking deeper within her breast tissue, near her breastbone. Turns out she had a very aggressive form of cancer, but they caught it in the early stages. For this type of breast cancer, due to its rapid formation and location, she would have never felt the lump until it was too late. It was a miracle that it was located so early.

After surgery and many radiation treatments (she luckily didn't have to go through chemotherapy), my mom won her battle against breast cancer. I thank God for healing my mother, for allowing her to be here with us and recover from her war against this disease. I pray that all of those suffering from this have the same positive outcome, and that their bodies will be healed from this ravaging illness which has taken so many.

My mom and dad - two of the most wonderful and influential people in my life. <3

Items from this collection will be released soon - please feel free to share your stories and thoughts!
