Jewelry Supplies on Etsy from LKcreativedesigns!

Today's Etsy store spotlight is for an epically stocked jewelry supply shop, LKcreativedesigns!

This is the first time that I've had the chance to review a supply shop, specifically a jewelry supply shop, so I'm super excited to have the opportunity.

The owner of this Etsy shop is Laurel from Colorado. She currently has a whopping 992 items available for sale, and it includes items such as stardust/metal beads, non-metal beads, rhinestones, gemstones, sterling silver supplies, chains, cords, charms, links, pendants, European charms, cabochons, settings and even a line of her own creations!

There is so much to choose from, so I went through and "window shopped" and added some items to my wish list. Here's some of my favorites:

Crimp covers may not seem exciting to those who don't make jewelry; however, if you live in a small town like I do, and the only nearby store that offers these is highly overpriced *cough* MICHAEL'S *cough*, it's pretty awesome to find decently priced crimp covers!

It's amazing how simple crimp covers will improve the look of your jewelry, but it really really does. They are a simple, but extremely effective addition to make your finished product look professional.

I love malachite! The lush forest green color and striped texture is great for numerous jewelry projects. With stone nugget chips like these, your creation possibilities are only limited to your imagination.

This filigree chain is super elegant! I really like the alternating shapes and patterns - the intricacy is striking, and the affordable price is the cherry on top!

These cute silver flower spacer beads could be used for soooo many things. I've often used them in the past to spruce up necklace and earring designs, and currently my mother uses them quite frequently to embellish the beaded watches that she makes for our store. They are very versatile and handy!

Last, but certainly not least, I wanted to feature one of Laurel's beautiful handmade creations that she offers in her supply shop. The lovely turquoise, gold and white color combination of this European style bangle caught my attention right away. This would be a super cute and elegant addition to anyone's jewelry collection!

Laurel was inspired to start her Etsy store to become her own boss after spending years in the corporate world.

She started her store in September 2008 to have a way to sell her jewelry creations while working an account job. Laurel was laid off in October of 2010 after almost 10 years when the owner of the spa she worked for turned the management of the spa over to a hotel.  They unfortunately no longer needed her in their fully staffed accounting and HR department.

2010, as many of us can relate, was a bad time to be laid off with a high salary. While looking for new job, Laurel started working on her Etsy shops (she has 3 in total).

For the future, Laurel hopes to raise her inventory amount to around 2,000 and increase her sales so that is may surpass her accounting salary.

Your shop is lovely and well arranged - I wish you continued success!

  1. I don't wear much jewelry, but I love just about every piece you posted! My favorites are the hand-stamped ring, the & necklace.. and if I were a mom, I would absolutely want the necklace with my kids' handwriting.
