5 Homemade Hoodoo Bath & Body Products on Etsy
Today's Etsy store spotlight is for HomemadeHoodoo!
This unique and interesting shop, run by Moma Delia of Philadelphia, PA, is full of homemade hoodoo items, mainly organic hoodoo soap and home grown ingredients.
I had never heard of hoodoo soap until I reviewed this Etsy shop, and I love the super personal aspect and hard work that is put into every single listing.
Sometimes it can be really difficult to come up with a great item description, but Moma Delia details everything you need to know about each of her products!
Let's take a look at some of my personal favorites from this store...

This amazingly displayed item is her handmade Chinese Wash! This wash contains herbs and roots like citronella and lemon grasses, broom straws, and pyrite, which are all taken from her own herb garden.
This wash is super concentrated, so it will last you a VERY long time! This wash is made to clean your home as a "dejinxer", and get rid of any bad vibes that may be hanging around your home.
I really enjoy the historical aspect of this as well - I had no idea that Chinese wash is used to keep rooms rented out and to draw customers to brothels. This is definitely an interesting fact for all you history junkies out there!

Also! I wanted to add that HomemadeHoodoo now offers this amazing Chinese wash in a skin-friendly bar of soap!
This soap, just like the liquid wash, is made from herbs and ingredients taken directly from the home and garden of Moma Delia. Also, just like the wash, this is meant to be used as a dejinxer.

This awesome handmade soap is known as "Ruler Soap". Moma Delia describes the purpose and action of this soap the best!

Made from homegrown ingredients, this soap contains herbs and roots like high John, Solomon seal, bergamot, and verbena. She also adds her own mix of oils to the soap, which adds more adds more prayer, power and blessings into every bar.

Made with fresh rosemary, this handmade soap is known as "Peaceful Home".
This minty smelling soap, mixed with the aromatic smell of rosemary, is a great way to send calming and happy vibes throughout your home!

This exquisitely saturated red handmade hoodoo soap is named "Saint Martha", after the patron of patron Saint of housewives, servants, and all things domestic.
Moma Delia describes this soap further:
"She is great at dominating those that oppose you including bosses,
cranky lovers, businesses, and enemies. She can work with you on
finances but will never make you rich, just comfortable. I always turn
to her when my home is less than peaceful."
This soap is made from homegrown herbs and roots like lavender, vetiver, gardenia, coming from Moma Delia's own garden.

For the future, Moma Delia hopes to expand her product line, as well as help as many people as she can. Another hope is that she can teach the newer generations about traditional folk magic and how it can positively mold your life.
