Today we have a super sweet Etsy store spotlight for KTsCoasterBoutique - this amazing store offers a plethora of themed coasters, ranging from TV shows such as Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Dr. Who, and The Walking Dead. 

Meet Katie, the owner of this Etsy shop!

Katie, from Kewanee, IL, makes ceramic tile coasters. It started as a gift idea for her sister-in law. Katie made a set using photos of her sister-in-law and her family. She was so overwhelmed by the gift, she was in tears! Upon seeing the beautiful coasters, someone asked Katie where she had ordered them from, and everybody was amazed to hear that she had made them herself! As a result, her other sister-in-law suggested that she start selling them!

Katie made a shop on Etsy with the intent of selling these awesome personalized sets. When she researched other stores for a price comparison, Katie was introduced to the idea of different themed sets, including sports teams, TV shows, movies, and more.

Upon realizing the endless creative opportunities, Katie's mind went crazy with ideas and she immediately got to work coming up with a plan about what she wanted to make. Although it's the media and sports sets that sell most often, Katie loves getting an order for a personalized set, as those are the most fun and special for her to make.

 

For those who are looking for customizable, personalized coasters, Katie offers them!

 Opening this Etsy shop has turned out to be the perfect outlet for Katie; even though she has a Bachelor's degree in Forensic Psychology and Masters degree in Criminal Justice, it's been proven difficult to find a job in her chosen field in my area. Opening the Etsy shop (August 29th, 2013) was going to be a fun hobby, but also a much needed extra source of income. 

This is her epically nerd-tastic Dr. Who coaster set that any Whovian would love!

 It took a few weeks to get her first order and she was super excited about it! A very nice young man from California purchased a "Breaking Bad" set, and the whole experience was delightful. Katie then continued to have a steady flow of orders until December rolled around and the Christmas mania started. She was so overwhelmed with the amount of orders that she had to recruit some helper elves!

Katie really enjoys the whole process and loves to hear positive feedback from her customers.Katie plans to keep her shop open as long as she can, even when she obtains a full time job (fingers are crossed!). The processing and turnaround time might not be as fast, but we have no doubt that Katie will do her best to keep her customers happy!
