Meet Yoka, the owner and creator of this amazing shop!

Yoka Wright, from Cape Town, South Africa, has a life-long passion for jewelry making and beading. Yoka fell in love with beads and beading at an early age and used to spend hours down by the river on her farm, beading away. Her travels around the world has enabled her to collect the most unusual and unique beads which have been collected over many decades!

So where does Yoka's passion come from? 

Her passion lies in using the most unique and ethnic beads that she can find and she has an elaborate bead collection which has taken many decades to build. Combining different colors, textures and styles gives each piece a unique and different look.

  Yoka started her Etsy shop as her jewelry is showcased in select galleries in South Africa and after receiving many compliments from overseas tourists, Yoka decided to open up an outlet to best serve her international customers and share her passion for handmade jewelry with the world.

Future plans for this Etsy shop include expanding her range and trying out new and different techniques with jewelry making. At the moment, Yoka's focus is on trade beads which were used as the earliest for of currency in Africa. They carry so much history and every bead has a story if their own.
